Allow Development Only With Adequate Infrastructure |

The Westside is faced with
ever-increasing traffic due to over-development. Projects, large
and small, are allowed without regard for the impact it will have on
residents.
Every new project that is allowed to proceed without adequate infrastructure adds to our "infrastructure deficit." The City then feels compelled to allow more development to pay for past rounds of development. This pyramid scheme must stop. It should be clear that all we do is fall further behind. Of most concern is that the City and Jack Weiss have supported developers' claims even in the face of clear and convincing data that the claims of little or no project impacts by developers are severely flawed. This includes the 10131 Constellation project. In this case, Jack Weiss supported the developer's claims that a new building with 483 condos, 1,300,000 square feet of building space, 106 combined stories, and 1200 parking spaces will create LESS traffic than a small 15,000 square foot bank and a 19,000 square foot seldom-used nightclub with a combined 60 parking spaces. In this case, the developer not only convinced the City that their project would have little or no impact, but that it would actually REDUCE traffic. The full presentation made by the homeowners coalition on the 10131 Constellation project can be found here. Help us send a message that we are being choked by traffic and need our elected officials to put our needs over those of developers' profits.
